Why stop longer at Smíchov

Smíchov is not only Angel and OC. A neighborhood guide for those looking for independent shops, cafes and authentic Prague.

Most tourists know Smíchov as a metro stop and a shopping center. Locals know it's one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Prague, with turn-of-the-20th-century architecture, a network of independent shops and cafes, and people who came here on purpose, not out of necessity.

Why Smíchov Smíchov is accessible (metro B, trams from all directions), still more affordable than Vinohrady or Žižkov and less saturated with tourists than the center. The result: independent businesses survive here because they have a loyal local clientele, and those independent businesses make the neighborhood interesting.

What you can find in the vicinity of Lidická, Lidická street, where we are based, is a quiet residential street a few steps from the bustling Plzeňská. In the wider area: cafes and bistros on Náměstí 14. October, Sacré Coeur park with a view, galleries and studios in

around Císařské ostrov, Smíchov market. Anděl is a five-minute walk, metro, trams, shops.

How to include us in your trip If you are going to Prague and planning a day outside the center, Smíchov + Vyšehrad is a great combination. We're on the route, stop by in the morning or afternoon, then spend the rest of the day in the neighborhood. Contact and how to reach us.
