Vintage in summer needs light materials and character
Vintage in warm weather. Light cotton, silk, vintage jeans and shirts, how to be stylish even in summer with vintage pieces.
Vintage and summer, a combination that works better than many think. Vintage summer pieces are made of materials that are almost non-existent today in the mid-range price range: linen cotton, seersucker, light silk, thick canvas. And cuts: bodice dresses, short sets, linen trousers.
Warm Weather Materials Linen, airy, moisture wicking, improves with age. Vintage linen pants or shirts are made of thicker linen than today's versions. Washing: hand or gentle program, dry stretched. Seersucker, striped or checked cotton with a pleated surface. An iconic American summer fabric of the 1950s and 1960s, hard to find today. Light cotton, vintage cotton dresses or shirts from the 70s and 80s are thicker cottons that don't wrinkle as much as today's versions.
